Gratitude.  It is just a word but it means so much to some and so little to others. Do you know how entitled some feel just because “they were born?”  It makes me sad to think about how some people make this world with the, “It is all about me” mentality.  Well, we won’t be focusing that as we are all about the mindset reset today!

If you missed my post from yesterday, I am starting 7 days of a Mindset Reset. Each day, there’ll be an affirmation and action, with a theme that we will focus on. Today is gratitude.

Dictionary.com defines gratitude as:  the quality or feeling of being grateful or thankful.

If you couldn’t tell, that’s what we’re gonna practice today. I know, I know… for some this will be easier said than done, but the point is to try.

Gratitude Affirmation And Action

Today’s affirmation:

I am grateful for today.  I am grateful to be here and present in this moment and I am grateful for each and every It's all about gratitude today! It's day 1 for the Mindset Reset and I'm sharing your affirmation and action step!circumstance that has happened up until now because it has made me the person I am right now.

Today’s action:

Well there are two actions today but I’m positive that you can handle it (see what I did there lol).

The first thing: Midday I want you to just stop whatever you are doing and say 3 things you are grateful for. Bonus points for writing them down!

Gratitude doesn’t have to be  this big ordeal. You could be grateful that you got 15 minutes of uninterrupted blog time or that your daughter was sweet enough to kiss your forehead and tell you she loves you.  It is what is special to you in that moment.

And your second action is the same as your first action, but before you go to bed.  Writing out 3 things that you are grateful for will help you go to bed happy and it improves your mood when you wake up.

See… super simple! Something that I do is when I start the day, I write down at least 3 things I’m grateful for and I do my best to make sure they are totally different every day.  Some days it is as small as being grateful for a cool glass of water and other days it’s being thankful for my kids. It’s really just about finding the small miracles throughout the day and recognizing how lucky I am, even on the days when it doesn’t feel like I’m that lucky.
